Keyboard does not appear
Open Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards and confirm that LingoKey is listed. If not, tap Add New Keyboard. In a normal text field, tap or hold the globe key and select LingoKey.
Some secure fields and apps disable third-party keyboards. Test in Notes or Messages to distinguish an app restriction from a setup issue.
Translation does not start
Check these items:
- Allow Full Access is enabled for LingoKey.
- The device has a working internet connection.
- A source and target language are selected.
- There is text available to translate.
- Your current subscription state allows the selected feature.
If an error still appears, note its exact wording. “No text to translate,” “Network unavailable,” “Enable Full Access first,” and a subscription message point to different causes and should not be treated as the same failure.
Clipboard text does not appear
Copy the text again, then refresh the clipboard translation panel. iOS may show a paste permission prompt; choose the option that matches what you intend to do.
If the panel still shows an older value, leave clipboard mode, copy the text again, return to the panel, and refresh. Clipboard translation is intentional and does not continuously watch everything you copy.
Translation cannot be undone
Undo is available only while LingoKey can verify that the translated text and its surrounding context still match the latest replacement. If you typed more text, the app changed the field, or the visible context moved, LingoKey may disable undo to protect unrelated content.
The wrong language direction is selected
Check the pair shown above the keyboard. Source is the language you are writing; target is the language you want to produce. Reverse the pair for an incoming message, or use clipboard translation to handle copied text.
Subscription or restore issue
Apple manages App Store billing. Use Restore Purchases in LingoKey and verify that the device is signed in to the Apple Account used for the original purchase. Subscription management and cancellation are available in Apple Account settings.
The price or free-trial text can differ by storefront and account eligibility. Trust the current Apple purchase sheet rather than an older screenshot or price quoted in another region.
